Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart: officially engaged!

This is such a good piece of news: Harrison Ford (of ‘Indiana Jones’ fame) and Calista Flockhart (formerly of ‘Ally McBeal’) are now engaged. The two have been together for more than seven years. They certainly disprove the so-called “seven-year itch,” viewed by some as a couple growing apart after seven years of being together.

It helps that the two, who met in the 2002 Golden Globe Awards, are sufficiently ~~matured~~ of age. There’s a 22-year age gap between them. Calista is 44 to Harrison’s 66, and this could be his last major relationship, errr, marriage. He’s tied the knot twice before and this is her first.

We await further news on how the lovebirds will go about their planned wedding. I mean, it’s old when news of their engagement comes out on the third week of March, when in fact, Mr. Ford popped the question Feb. 14 yet. Naked Chef Jamie Oliver will reportedly be tapped to do the catering.

Crazy wedding proposal that involves an X-ray and Wendy’s Frosty

Before the Wedding Proper, wedding proposals are the most-awaited. It seems the rule of thumb for most couples is: the more romantic, the better. It should be something couples and their family or friends will remember for long. And if dramatic enough, it can even land you a spot in the newspapers!

One of the proposals that caught my eye recently was the case of this young man who put the engagement ring he intended to give his girlfriend in a cup of Wendy’s Frosty. Rating: Funny, and yucky at the same time. Imagine trying to find the ring in your pile of poo, and cleaning it all after.

An example of comic relief, I should say!
